Baltic birch plywood cabinet, 4 integrated handles, threaded pole-mount cup and a caster board to help with the move. The Class D amp allows you full digital speaker processing  control over your subs output. You can adjust the crossover points, limiters, notch filters, set your high/low pass, basically tune the box to your idea of perfect.

We upgraded every component of this build. The difference with the FCS18P and your big box store sub is this: Turbosound, RCF, QSC, etc. all must compete to hit price points and specs. I wanted a pro sub worthy of my sound company (FREQ CITY SOUND CLIENTS PAGE) and any other needing an 18” active sub.  We gathered all the correct components and had the box built; the goal wasn't to hit a price point to compete with the others on the market.  The goal was a pro-grade 18" active sub.  A $1000 sub at a big box store costs the importer under a few hundred bucks. They mark it up and sell it to the distributor, another markup to the retailer, another markup to you. I'm selling at close to their prices but the build costs WAY more than a few hundred bucks. The sound of this sub, the 2x18, our center-fills, wedges etc. gets close to the output of cabinets costing $3000+.
